Data Storage

What is Data Storage?

Data storage is the process of saving and maintaining digital information so that it can be accessed and used by an application when needed. In a mobile app, stored data can include user information, products, services, prices, bookings, documents, images, settings, and other content. Data can be stored locally on a device, in a database, in cloud storage, or through a combination of different storage methods.

Why it matters

Mobile applications depend on reliable data storage to preserve and retrieve the information required for their functionality. The appropriate storage method depends on how the data is used, whether it needs to be shared between users or devices, and whether the application needs offline access. App builders and no-code platforms can simplify data management by providing built-in databases and cloud-based storage capabilities.

Example

A company creates a mobile app containing a catalog of services, prices, images, and customer bookings. The application stores this information so it can retrieve the appropriate data when users browse services or manage their bookings.
