Mobile Payments

What are Mobile Payments?

Mobile payments are financial transactions made using a smartphone, tablet, or mobile application. They can include payments for products, services, bookings, subscriptions, and other purchases completed from a mobile device. In a mobile app, payment functionality is typically connected through a payment provider or payment integration that securely processes the transaction.

Why it matters

Mobile payments allow customers to complete a purchase or pay for a service without leaving the mobile experience. For businesses, integrating payments into an app can simplify checkout, support e-commerce and booking scenarios, and reduce unnecessary steps between choosing a product or service and completing the transaction.

Example

A customer uses a booking app to select a service and available time. Instead of paying separately on another website, the customer completes the payment from their smartphone as part of the booking process.
